R-U-N or R-U Out
(Scriptures for Message 6/26/2016 - Listen to the Message on Listen and Download)

The video series we are beginning for our small groups this Wednesday night is all about the plight of Christian believers in a place of persecution having lost everything they own, with no country, no governmental protection….But God has made provision for many of them….

Today I want to ask you how far will you go to serve Christ, do you have a turn-a-way point or will you be sold out the whole route in the coming days, should America look just like this,

The original twelve disciple all had intense persecution as they represented Jesus to the the early world.

Matt 5: 11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. 13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. NKJV

Are you a secret agent believer where nobody knows but the few people of your church.

Let us look at an acrostic for the Word MARTYR

M is for MARKED for the Kingdom of God and are called to be not just sons and daughters but fruitbearers. Because of this the enemy will also have you marked with a bulls eye

Eph 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory. NIV

Heb 12: 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. NIV

A is for ARMOR Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. NKJV Wiles means methods of trickery and deceit. Remember to keep the spiritual ARMOR on at all times

  1. Moses withstood Pharoah
  2. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego withstood Nebecannezzar
  3. Gideon withstood the Midianites
  4. All the great men and women of God withstood the devil through some form of enemy in their lives and most dealt with different seasons of persecution, rejection, hardship, but God used them to tell future generations of His awesome and great glory that they brought Him through their service

A is also for ATTITUDES of people who represent the Kingdom. We must ask the Holy Spirit for help with our attitudes so as to live godly lives…

Matt 5: 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit,For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. NKJV

R is for RACE

Acts 20:22 And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, 23 except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. 24 But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. NKJV

2 Tim 4:6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. NKJV

T is for Training

1 Cor 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. NIV

T is for Training is continual discipleship which yields spiritual growth and ultimately continual fruitbearing….Therefore I refuse to run like a man without a target

T is for Target. What are you doing to target your growth as a believer as well as helping to share the Kingdom of Heaven and the gospel of Christ

T is for Transformation, do not be conformed but transformed, changed to do what? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to find and fulfill your purpose in life and it maybe many over different seasons

Y is for Yes I am a blood bought, Bible toting, scripture quoting, devil chasing, warrior for Christ not worrier but warrior

Y is for YEARNS Ps 84:1 How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty! 2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. NIV

We are ever seeking the Lord and waiting for answers to prayers and directions, we all need a heart that yearns to do His will for our lives and to accomplish the destinies for what we were created for

Eph 2: 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. NIV

R is for ARE….What are you and I to do with the rest of our lives? At the very least we need to begin to pray and provide for by whatever means to help the persecuted brothers and sisters throughout the globe,

R is for RARE…. You are a rare jewel in the hand of the master and owner of your life. What are you willing to give of your life SACRIFICIALLY?  If not us, then WHO?

R is for finishing your Race….Acts 22: 20 And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.' 21 "Then the Lord said to me, 'Go; I will send you far away to the Gentiles.'" NIV

It’s time to pray as never before for people who walk daily with the Lord need to HEAR HIS voice in this hour through His word and still small voice of the Spirit to our spirit

2 Tim 4: 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, NKJV
